Washing Machine Troubleshooting

Maybe fixing your washing machine seems difficult and complex, but they are rather simple inside.

We will give you some basic tips for the usual problems, and you can save yourselves a lot of money. When your washing machine isn’t running, you should check if the power supply is correctly connected, if the fuses are blown and if the lid is completely closed.

If the problems with the power supply happen often, immediately call an electrician, because it could indicate a more serious problem.

If you hear some unusual noise, check if the water is flowing.
If it is not, that is the reason why the machine is making noises. The machine must be equally balanced on the floor, and make sure there aren’t any foreign things (coins, buttons etc.) stuck inside.

Washing Machine Troubleshooting
If the problems with the power supply happen often, immediately call an electrician, because it could indicate a more serious problem.
When the machine isn’t spinning, the door might be opened. If you notice that it is not being drained well, check for blockages in the drain pipe, and check for leakages.

When the detergent is not being used consumed, you are probably dealing with a low water pressure or there isn’t enough water. Make sure to check the valves and water flow.

There should be a hot and a cold valve, and some washing machines won’t work when both of them aren’t open. If the water fills very slowly, simply open the valves more. If the water won’t fill at all, and both valves are open, there might be a clog in the filter, so you should do some plain cleaning of the filter.

There are also times when the detergent becomes lumpy and gets stuck, so water can’t draw it into the machine. If there are high vibrations and noise during spinning, check whether the balance is alright, and reduce the load if necessary and start again.

If this is not the case, call a licenced service provider.

When your door doesn’t open, you should usually wait for a minute or two after the washing has finished. If that doesn’t work, call the repairman, don’t force it.

Each model of washing machines should have specific error codes written in the user manual, so you can interpret different error when they show up on your control panel. When there are puddles of water on the floor, check the connections of the hoses to the valves. If there is any moisture, just tighten it right away. Hoses that are damaged should be replaced, because they could burst and cause a huge flood. Check them frequently to avoid these types of problems.

We hope we helped you in solving some of your washing machine mysteries. However, if you still have no clue of what the problem could be, check your user manual. Maybe it holds the answers to your questions. If you didn’t get a manual with your washing machine, go to the manufacturer’s site and check there. And, if you still have no clue after all that, definitely call a repairman, because they will probably help you.
